The Island of The Squishy Monster

April 29, 2012 by The Squishy Monster

I picked up a magazine due to curiosity today.  I never read ‘em.  I feel like they’re portable advertisements and their floppiness doesn’t compare to the sturdy feel (and smell, lol) of a hard backed book.  It did, however include a very interesting article.  A certain South Korean, Dr. Jung, is treating Women via AccuSculpt lipolysis laser (inserted inside the skin) for “facial contouring” where Women can lose “face-weight” and obtain that “Foxy Face or V-line” jawline that is all the rage.  Dr. Jung goes on to advocate for her new procedure by saying that the K-pop group, Girls’ Generation “…is an excellent example of the baby face and V-lines that Koreans like.”  I’m Korean and didn’t know that my own face shape was something to hate.  Come to think of it, I’m probably a rare case for the fact that I don’t follow K-drama or K-pop.  Nothing against K-pop-culture, I also don’t follow the Snooki’s or Nicki Minaj’s of the Western Hemisphere, either.  It might have something to do with the fact that I don’t have Cable, watch television, own a fancy Satellite Radio…and that I became the proud owner of an Apple product for the first time in my life last Christmas.  Here’s my question: if most Korean Women want to look more “White,” what will happen to being a Korean Woman?  Will a natural, Korean face become obsolete?

A fellow youtuber actually wrote me to recommend facial rollers (and even offered to ship them to me) and when I was younger, I was told that I needed eye-lid surgery.  I don’t need anything, you Crazies.  I remember a quote I read when I was 12-”to wish you are anything else is a waste of who you are.”  I feel like some of life’s most important lessons can be found in Children’s books or memories that stick with you as a Child into Adult-hood.  Aren’t there a million and one Kiddie-books about “you are who you are, so be happy with who you are…?”  Ok, I may have made that last part up (and obviously, I wouldn’t be a great Dr. Seuss)  but why can’t we all just share a piece of Cake, smiles, and laughter?

Mm, yum.  Must make another Cake!! =D

Yummy Cake & Happy Smiles,

Love Always,

Your-Squishy and damn proud of it-Monster ^.^
