Thanksgiving 2012

November 23, 2012 by The Squishy Monster

November was a Cheetah of an animal…where did it go?

Despite Thanksgiving coming and going in one wizzy whirl, I find solace in the fact that my fridge is fat with leftovers galore and have pictures to share of a lovely Thanksgiving.

Heart shaped Honey-Cardamom Cinnamon Rolls for Breakfast

Thanksgiving Spread–I made 2 hams and am passing out Ham/Swiss sandwiches for Pack Away Hunger.

Dessert

At dinner, I told Pops my Pecan story–he thought it was so funny/poignant, that after dinner, we went pickin’ and gathered 20 lbs of nuts, lol—if y’all have suggestions of what to do with all of it, please let me know.

A lone leaf celebrating Thanksgiving alone in the front of my house.

I hope that everyone had a beautiful celebration with their loved ones.

Love,

Your very grateful {and stuffed} Squishy Monster ^.~

It seems harder each year to realize the true meaning behind our Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations what, with commercialism and consumerism shoved in your face to coincide with Halloween…I hope to pass the important lessons onto my children, one day.

  2. I’m sooo sure you had a blast last TD with these awesome goodies Angie….the pecan pie sure looks yummy!!!

  6. Happy thanksgiving! It’s not really an Australian or Chinese tradition so we didn’t really celebrate it which was a shame…

Your dinner setup is picture perfect! Wow! And I love your heart shaped cinnamon rolls, esp the interesting flavors you chose for it. Hey, why not make some candied (and maybe spiced) pecans for holiday gifts?

Your Thanksgiving dinner looks wonderful. That could actually be a postcard girl! It’s so pretty. I like the idea of the ham and cheese sandwiches for Pack Away Hunger. 20 pounds of pecans, you’re going to be busy coming up with all kinds of new things. If you want an easy one try my pineapple ham cheese ball (with pecans), so yummy :)

  17. What a feast! And Deviled Eggs – yum – what a great idea. I never think to include those for thanksgiving and i love them.

Mom actually convinced me to make them because she claimed we didn’t have enough food–psssh, we had SO much left over but I’m definitely not complaining! =)
