This & That

September 11, 2012 by The Squishy Monster

Did you ever play that game as a kid?  The one where your friends would ask you if you’d rather ___ or ____?

LOL.  Life was much simpler then.  Now it’s come to if I have a set monthly budget of ___, can I cover my regular expenses + that gigantic economy log of Goat Cheese…ooh, what’s that there?  Do I need another jar of Kalamata Olives?  ….and you know, some Pine Nuts would be nice, too….and then, if you’re anything like me, you get lost in the aisles and greedily grab so much more off the shelves than you ever anticipated and before you know it, you must trepidatiously approach the cashier and reel back as s/he clearly informs you of just how overboard you went–haha!

Blessed, I am– I was gifted these amazing “Korean Grapes” from our family friends.  They retail for a whopping $50/box!

That darker bunch is what I grew up affectionately referring to as “hanguk pohdoh.”  Intensely sweet with the power to stain your mouth (and anything else it touches) a deep mess of purpley-blue.  I like to slip off its skin, extract the seeds and suck and chew on the juicy fruit inside.

This weeks nails, last weeks nails.

Last nights dinner of spiced, yogurt Chicken on a bed of Spanish Rice,

& Dark Chocolate Cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream & Chocolate drizzled Coconut Macaroons for dessert!

This, that, and more,

Love,

Your Squishy Monster ^.~

I also want to take this time to remember all the brave women and men that were lost in 9-11.  11 years ago, and it seems just like yesterday.  May there never be another yesterday like that ever again.

Most of my friends agree, but theses grapes are still high maintenance, LOL…just like honey suckle, you have to work so hard to get to the yummy bit.
