Random Acts of Christmas

November 26, 2012 by The Squishy Monster

I got to spend a lot of time with baby brother during his Fall break and as always, we shared a lot of good food and laughs.  We also got to catch up and a lot of his friends are experiencing hardships, it seems.  One is dealing with the death of his brother and the other a terrible break up.  It got us thinking about what we could do to brighten their day and so, we decided to whip up a couple batches of cupcakes to deliver to each one of his friends that are going through a tough time.

Red Velvet…individually cased in clear cups to ensure that they make it through the trip.

This struck me with even greater inspiration and so, I’ve decided to undertake a project for myself dubbed, “Random Acts of Christmas.”  Each week, aside from “Pack Away Hunger,” I’ll be anonymously donating food or doing something kind for both strangers and friends…I hope this inspires you to love and include your neighbor.  You just never know when someone is going through a tough time.

Love & Cupcakes,

Your Squishy Monster ^.~

What a wonderful idea. I really want to do the same as we are so blessed. The children love service projects and I have to consciously remember to implement these or the month just goes by so fast.

What s beautiful and generous thing to do. Here in Toronto people sometimes ‘pay it forward’ and buy the person in line behind them a cup of coffee or lunch!

Cupcakes make me instantly happy and so I’m sure that these cuties put a smile on your brother’s friends’ faces!

  27. Loving the title! Kindness is my favorite word. I love your motivation for others to do the same random acts. Sometimes it only takes a smile, a small gesture, and a hug. So many people are struggling. Love your post. I love doing the anonymous giving too : )

  28. That’s a fantastic idea and a great example of the real christmas spirit so many forget x

  29. Tandy says:

‘Random Acts of Christmas’ is a gorgeous idea! Nothing better than food to nurture the soul. I’ve been doing a bit of that myself lately, to friends and family in need. Sometimes words can fail us, but food speaks volumes. Great post. The cupcakes look fab too!
